| Q1.The basic concepts of the GreTai Securities Market (abbreviated as GTSM) market. |
 |
Ans︰
A well-defined securities market should include a centralized market and an alternative securities market. After several decades of development, the TSE market has become one of the most famous centralized trading markets in the world. However, there are many small-and-medium size enterprises that are not listed on TSE market. Those enterprises cannot raise the working capital by the capital market. In order to enhance the competitive capability of our nation's industries and to promote the size and upgrade the productivity of the enterprises mentioned above, we concluded it is necessary to develop the GTSM. |

| Q2.When was GreTai Securities Market (abbr. as GTSM) set up? What type of the organization is it? |
 |
Ans︰
GTSM was set up on November 1, 1994. Its mission is similar to those of TSE; however, the structure is quite different. Unlike TSE, GTSM is a non-profit organization, and unlike Securities Dealers Association to be a membership organization. |

| Q3.If I am interested in some stocks that are not listed on TSE or GTSM, how can I invest them? |
 |
Ans︰
In light of the growing problems involving illegal brokerage of unlisted stocks, where not only a fair and transparent trading system was lacking, their settlement also involved tremendous risks. In the efforts to address this issue, we established the Emerging Stock Market on January 2nd of this year. This not only provided a legal trading market for unlisted companies, but also presented individual investors a legal, safe and transparent venue to trade. |

| |
| Q5.Why did GTSM designate the date November 1, 1995 to deploy the GreTai weighted average stock index? What is the meaning? |
 |
Ans︰
Since November 1, 1995 is GTSM's one year anniversary, it is more meaningful to deploy the GreTai weighted average stock index on the same date and it is also easier to remember. In addition, the prices of all the securities listed on the GTSM are fairly low on November 1, 1995 (the average stock price is only NT$ 12.8). Therefore, it leaves little or no rooms for the price to fall. |
